Extend the life of your LBD

Vanity Fair is recommending that we buy beautiful slips that can peek out from under our greatly worn LBDs to give them a new life. What a great idea. But they need to come back to reality as to what most of us can afford. Vanity Fair is recommending the beauty shown here by Your Slip Is Showing ($300). At this price I could buy a new LBD. Instead, I’m going to buy pretty lace and have a seamstress sew to the hem of our dresses. Before cropped pants were common, we would cut off pants and have fabric, lace, buttons or trim sewn to the hems. Pick a dress that’s boring you and give it your own designer touch.
