Sarah Palin Stylists Speaks Out
November 26th, 2009
When it comes to business fashion, my favorite two models are Nancy Pelosi and Sarah Palin. Both dress in a conservative, yet current and fashionable manner. If you are looking to upgrade your work image, check out these two.
Remember that heated debate when Sarah Palin was transformed from pretty to stunning by Manhattan stylist, Lisa Kline? Finally, Kline is speaking out in a New York Times article. She and her assistants had a holiday weekend to put together Ms. Palin and family. The reported budget for Ms. Palin was $150,000 and this included a look book created by Ms. Kline to give Ms. Palin an idea of how to wear the clothes. Ms. Kline hit a homerun, Palin always looked picture-perfect, at least until she had to stop wearing the clothes to hush up the furor.
Wardrobegate undermined Ms. Palin’s carefully crafted homespun image. Details about pricey designer clothes outraged both Democrats and Republicans. In her new memoir, “Going Rogue,” Ms. Palin is trying to distance herself from the incident. It was a “trumped up controversy,” she writes. “I never asked the New York stylists to purchase clothes, many of the items were never worn, many others were intended for the use of other people, and in the end the wardrobe items were all returned. It certainly wasn’t true that I or my family had been on any kind of ‘big-time shopping trips.’ ”
Ms. Kline says this is ture. She has not previously commented on this topic in respect to her client.
Personally, I would love to see the Klein’s “look book” and sneak a peek in Pelosi’s closet. I would then try to imitate them on a Talbot’s budget.
